Texas A&M University

Shah Smith &Associates, Inc. provided the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Design Engineering for a new 231,000 square foot Emerging Technology and Economic Development Building. The Biomedical Engineering Department consists of undergraduate laboratories, faculty research laboratories, tissue culture rooms, bio fab labs, and imaging suites.

The University of Texas at Tyler

The University of Texas at Tyler Engineering, Science, and Technology Building is constructed in two parts. The south building is approximately 64,000 square feet of laboratory, classroom and administrative space. The building houses wet labs, hazardous chemical storage, perchloric acid exhaust systems, computer labs and large lecture halls.

University of Houston

This 78,000 SF new Fleming Teaching Laboratory addition for chemistry and biology studies is currently in design. The program includes an additional 24,000 SF of shell space for future research use. Instructional labs will accommodate 24 students with 8 student work stations at each 3 lab bench.

Texas A&M University

Shah Smith provided MEP design engineering services for a 225,000 square foot Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building. Texas A&M University is developing a Life Sciences Corridor on the College Station Campus. The intent is to provide research facilities for different disciplines of research in one building to promote collaborative research from the different disciplines.

University of Houston

Shah Smith &Associates, Inc. is part of the A/E team providing programming, design, and construction administration services to transform a 70 acre campus with 15 buildings into the Energy Research Park.

University of Houston

University of Houston contracted Shah Smith to design and upgrade the power plant, which would likely be the last expansion to this plant, since building construction has mostly land-locked it.

Established in January of 1994, Shah Smith & Associates, Inc. is a 50+ person consulting engineering firm specializing in design, construction management and commissioning of research, healthcare, and higher education, public works, aviation, and governmental facilities. We have offices in Austin, Houston, and Dallas.
